Celtic could lose star forward Odsonne Edouard to Leeds United this summer. The likely English Championship winner are already dreaming of a move to the English topflight next season. Arming themselves with one of the top talents in Britain seems like the move here.
Other Premier League sides are also monitoring the player who netted 21 times for the Scottish Premiership said. Scotland has developed several Premier League quality stars like Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Fraser, Kieran Tierney etc. Edouard looks like one headed in that direction.
Aside a move to the Premier League with Leeds, a return to France is mooted. The PSG academy graduate has admirers in the Ligue 1 and any could make a move this summer. Already it seems Edouard is keen on joining the Marcelo Bielsa-managed side as they are set to storm the Premier League.
Tyler Roberts and Patrick Bamford have done well this term, but they could do with an additional quality signing like Edouard. The problem is Celtic would want a heavy transfer fee, likely in the range of 30 to 40 million pounds. This could push the deal off the reach of Leeds.
Celtic are also looking at getting a new goalkeeper as Fraser Forster stalled on returning. Coach Neil Lennon says they would have loved to have him with them for another season but since the 32-year old is stalling they would have to consider other options.
There is a lot of hype surrounding Celtic winning their tenth straight title. Lennon agrees it would be monumental but he doesn’t want to distracted by the fanfare, preferring to see it as winning the next title.
